• Eisenmenger Syndrome is caused by a cardiac defects with a left to right shunt, this leads to pulmonary hypertension 

• Eisenmenger Syndrome develops when the pulmonary pressures exceed the systemic pressures, causing a right to left shunt

• This is causes central cyanosis from the systemic blood bypassing lung oxygenation

• Ultimately, if applicable, a bilateral lung and heart transplant can be required to correct this
