• Vasculitis refers to inflammation in the blood vessels, typically caused from immune related dysfunction

• Vasculitits can affect the arteries, veins and capillaries however their effects are felt greatest in the arteries

• Vasculitidies refers to the collection of conditions (c.20) that cause vasculitis and is usually classified by the size of blood vessel affected

• Diagnosis is complex and management (to generalise!) centres around steroids
