Vasculitis refers to inflammation in the blood vessels, typically caused from immune related dysfunction
Vasculitits can affect the arteries, veins and capillaries however their effects are felt greatest in the arteries
Vasculitidies refers to the collection of conditions (c.20) that cause vasculitis and is usually classified by the size of blood vessel affected
Diagnosis is complex and management (to generalise!) centres around steroids
Large vessel: GCA/ PMR, TA (Takayasu's Arteritis)
Medium vessel: Polyarteritis Nodosa (PAN), Kawasaki's Disease
Small vessel

Thromboangiitis obliterans (TAO, Buerger's Disease)
