In Barrett's oesophagus, the oesophageal lining changes into columnar due to damage from the stomach's acid
Barret's oesophagus is dysplasia (pre-cancerous) and is associated with oesophageal adenocarcinoma
Management: repeat endoscopy in 6m with PPI cover, if persists: radiofrequency ablation
Low grade dysplasia
x2 endoscopies 6 months apart for diagnosis
Offer radiofrequency ablation
Alternatively 6 month suivellance
High grade dysplasia
Radiofrequency ablation
