• Presentation: sob, snorring, AF. hyperthyroidism

• O/E: irregular nodular goitre

• Ix: raised TSH, low T4, TrAb -ve

• Mx: carbimazole, surgery if signs of airway obstruction

Indications for surgery

• Signs of airway compression

• Co-existing cancer (or concerns)

• Co-existing thyroid cancer

• Large goitre > 80g
