Insulinoma

Exam Cram 

• Insulinoma: slow growing growth of the pancreas, that produces insulin, classified as a neuro-endocrine tumour (NET)

• Presentation: recurrent hypoglycaemia and weight gain

• Investigation: exercise provocation test after overnight fast & monitor blood sugar

• Diagnosis: high insulin & C-peptide during hypoglycaemic event
