Lower GI Bleed (LGIB) is defined as bleeding in the GI tract distal to the ligament of Treitz, around D3/4 in the duodenum
Presentation: rectal bleeding (hematochezia)
Classification: perianal disease (haemorrhoids, anal fissure or cancer) or colorectal disease (colorectal cancer, diverticulitis)
Management: A-E assessment, stop blood thinners/ reversal agents, escalate care
