• Dengue Fever is a viral infection transmitted by a mosquito bite

• Presentation: foreign travel + high fever, retro-orbital headache, (severe) myalgia, thrombocytopenia, 

• Diagnosis: IgM serology

• Management: supportive

Deeper Dive

• Incubation period: 3-14 days

• Haemorrhagic phase: once symptom for 3-5 days

• Complications (rare): Pericarditis, Acute Hepatitis 

• Found in areas with mosquitos, including Australia's northern territory
