• Low or inappropriately normal phosphate

• Low calcium, raised phosphate

• Normal Alk P

Diagnosis

Diagnostic criteria: low or inappropriately low PTH

Differentials: 

• Osteomalacia- low vit d/ calcium; elevated alk P and PTH

• Pagets- raised Alk P

Classification: by cause-

• Congenital hypoparathyroidism

Management

1. Replace vitamin D and calcium
