Acute Management

• Co-amoxiclav IV

• Terlipressin IV (or somatostatin)

• Endoscopic banding (emergency vs urgent vs routine

  • • Sengstaken tube if bleeding not relieved by banding

• Hb > 70 (> 80 in IHD), PLT > 50, INR < 2

• Decompensated liver cirrhosis bundle as required

Longer Term Management

• Prophylactic antibiotics: ciprofloxacin
